Made of solid black walnut, this is a pair of Victorian lady’s needlepoint parlor chairs that date from the 1860s-‘70s. They have the typical glue joint repairs for chairs of this style. Right below the finger carving and beaded carving on the balloon back crest, they each have earlier repairs that are obvious and very common. They have a flared back leg, cabriole front leg, circular seat, and the old-time needlepoint fabric that’s good on both chairs, and that features a colorful arrangement of flowers. The chairs themselves are solid black walnut, and other than the cracks you can see in the pictures, they are in great condition. They are 18 inches wide, 17 inches deep, 34 inches to the top of the chair back, and 18 inches high to the seat.
