This is a gorgeous matched pair of hard to find rosewood hand-carved floral design Victorian-age chairs dating from the 1870s. They come with original little porcelain casters, an old silk-style floral brocade fabric on the upholstery of the back and the seat, and the backs are so well-carved in relief that you can see the individual rose petals and leaves, and a little bow tie in the center, as well as a pierce carved crest. The chairs have cabriole legs, and a really strong rosewood grain. The overall size of each is 19 inches across the seat, 19 inches deep, and 39 inches high. The seat is 17 inches high. This is a really nice pair of chairs in original condition, with a beautiful patina. You can see some repairs on the back because they are quite fragile, and are a bit loose, but can be successfully used for display.
