SOLD Antique Oak Morris Chair, Barley Twist Claw Foot Reclining Chair
This antique oak morris chair dates from the 1900s and is in original condition. It came right out of the home on the East Coast, and features a floral fabric that is still usable. The seat is just a bit worn, but the chair itself is in good original condition with all tiger-sawn oak with an original dark oak stain finish. It has big carved lion heads on the front of each arm, which are supported with six barley twist that spindles; a rather unique feature! It has a detailed clawfoot and the original hardware on the adjustable back. If you don’t like the position of the chair, you can move the back through four different settings; from upright right down to flat like a chaise lounge. The overall size is 29 inches wide across the arms, 29 inches deep, 17 inches high to the seat and 41 inches high when the chair is in the upright position. Morris chairs with lion heads and barley twist posts are becoming scarcer. Shipping starts at $225 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
