This Antique Oak Ice Box is a really difficult to find model, featuring four doors. This antique ice box is in nice condition, dating from the 1890s era. Someone refinished it a long time ago, and has the original hinges, latches, handles and shelves. All the components of this Antique Ice Box are good, and it even appears to have the original painted finish on the inside. It could easily be set up as a bar. This ice box even has the original kickboard, which is usually long gone. The kick board flips to empty the drip pan underneath. It has solid sides, solid top, corkboard back with the match hardwood lumber all intact. It is about as original as you can get except for the fact that someone stripped some of the finish off and re-oiled it and possibly repainted the inside. These are hard to find as I have been looking and I was fortunate enough to find this one on the coast of Maine. An old man had it and he was selling his house where this has been since the 1930’s and he doesn’t remember anyone ever refinishing it. It has solid plank sides that have a couple of lamination seams, where the wood has shrunk over the years and is nothing structural. There is also a lamination seam on the top. The overall size is 35.5 inches wide, 19 inches deep and 55 inches high. It is a perfect example for a bar or even as an ice box. The back has the stencils of the model number, but it doesn’t say where it was made. Shipping starts at $345 if you are in our normal area of the New England States.
