SOLD Antique Library Table, Antique Mahogany Oval Writing Desk with Angel Faces
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful turn of the century oval mahogany library writing desk that dates from the 1890's in original condition. It is a very unusual piece as it has large Jenny Lind faces on the ends of both sides of the legged base. The faces are 8 inches wide by approximately 12 inches high. It is very unique as I have never seen one like this. It has scroll jelly feet with applied carvings on both ends, multi-shape molded edge on the bottom shelf, beaded molded on the top with sunflower blocks on all the corners and a wide ogee bevel edge on the oval top. It also has a dove tail drawer in the center. The overall size is 48 inches long, 30 inches deep and 28 inches high. The bottom shelf is approximately 8 inches high. The table is all original finish and shows normal nicks and dings. We will gladly sand the top down, color match it to the base and re-spray it for the buyer if desired and it can be discussed at the time of purchase. It has the original solid brass hardware and a large center drawer that is 19 inches wide and 22 inches deep. There is a small fleck of wood missing from the inside of the drawer, which you can't see when the drawer is closed. The table has a castor base for easy movement.
