SOLD Antique Hanging Victorian Walnut Whatnot Shelf with Mirror
Made of solid black walnut, this is a Victorian Civil War-era hanging whatnot shelf with a circular mirror in the center. It has great fretwork, and is most likely cut out with a hand scroll saw back in those days. It appears to be all good and original, with three small shelves and one large shelves, a round multi-molded circular mirror, and original finish over the entire piece. It is 31 inches at the widest point, 36 inches high, and the mirror is 8 inches wide. The depth of the large shelf is 8 inches deep, and the small shelves are 4 inches deep. It has its gorgeous original patina from the 1860s or ‘70s. I’ve looked it all over and I don’t see any damage on it all, so I’ll assume it may have something missing here or there, but it’s not obvious.
