This Horner tallboy block front oak dresser dates from the 1890s. We couldn’t find the label, but we have owned these many times before. However, since I cannot find a label, we will refer to it as Horner style. It has two carved front drawers that have north wind lion face handles, then four large drawers that are block front with carved fronts, then a rope braided edge molding on the base and top. It stands upon a fancy cutout leg that retains the original castors. It has plank sides, has the old dark finish, and retains all the original hardware right down to the escutcheons. If you are a Horner collector, I am sure you don’t see this model very often. We are fortunate to own this one to pass along. The overall size is 39 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 57 inches high. The size of the large drawers are 31.5 inches wide, 15 inches deep and 7.5 inches high. The two small drawers on top are 14.5 inches wide, 15 inches deep and 6 inches high. The overall condition is good original. You can see some spots on top that are small. It has the dark patina. It is all original.
