This Antique Cylinder Secretary Bookcase Desk dates from the 1880s in its original finish. This desk has so much charm and character! If you’re an antique buff, this is probably a desk for you. The exterior features all the nicks and dings that come with age. The burl details on the cylinder desk, drawers, and cabinet doors are a nice contrast agains the medium-stained walnut, The original handles, keyhole escutcheons, and an old bottle of ink add a nice detail to this early Victorian piece. Open the burl cylinder, to expose and interior featuring cubbies, drawers, and a pull out writing surface with lots of character. The pull out writing surface could probably be relined with new felt, but the current green one features a lot of old-timey stains, so if you’re a history buff like I am, you might want to keep it as is. Other than that all we have here are some of the normal nicks and dings that come from an antique almost 150 years of age.

Open the original bubble glass doors to expose the shelf-lined interior, with three adjustable shelves. A crown molded top, panel sides, dovetail drawers, and so much character, the overall size is 33 1/2 inches wide by 19 1/2 inches deep and 83 1/2 inches tall it’s 29 1/2 inches from the floor to the writing surface. The three shelves inside the bookcase top are approximately 10 inches deep.
