SOLD Antique Cherry Roll Top - 42” Refinished - Union Deck Co, Boston, MA

This antique Victorian Rolltop Desk in solid Cherry wood dates from the 1880s era, and is in fully professionally restored and refinished condition. This beautiful diminutive desk features a single bank of four dovetail drawers, with a simulated double drawer at the bottom which is actually a single drawer, called a "file drawer" that measures 10.5 inches wide 9.25 inches tall.

This great quality desk has raised panels all the way around, and is in great condition. It has been completely refinished, with multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer applied, and has a recanvased the roll top that opens and closes with ease. Often called a lady's roll top, this antique roll top desk features the tambour roll top and a pull-out writing surface above the bank of drawers.

This antique roll top desk was made by the Union Deck Co out of Boston, MA, as indicated by the stamp on the desk's keyhole. The raised panels go all the way around the desk, so you can leave it out in the center of the room; it’s just as gorgeous in the back as it is in the front. Lift the tambour roll top to expose the oxblood colored felt lining, and a multi-cubby hole and dual drawer interior. The lock is original and there is no key.

Overall dimensions are 42 inches wide x 30 inches deep x 45 inches tall, and 31inches to the top of the writing surface.
