This bold and beautifully carved Victorian oak sideboard dates to the 1880s and is loaded with Gothic flair, mythical creatures, and commanding presence. It was pulled straight from a home in New York and is ready to make a statement in yours.
At the top, the carved crest features twin sea serpents guarding a central shield, flanked by urns bursting with flowers. Below, a notched tombstone mirror reflects the room while tying the elements together visually. The cabinet base includes:
Scary faces carved into picture frame-molded doors
Big brass lion head pulls with rings in their noses
Fluted posts with acanthus carvings
Carved drawer fronts and raised panel sides
Every inch of this piece has detail—from the shield crest to the panel sides and stepped-out base. It’s powerful and elegant all at once.
