SOLD Antique Bookcase, Victorian Solid Walnut Step Back Double Door Bookcase
This antique bookcase features a wonderful original finish, the original wavy glass in the double door step back walnut Victorian bookcase dating from the 1860s to 1870s. It is a great looking bookcase that is called “a step back” because the base protrudes out. It has a large single picture frame molded hand cut dovetail drawer on the base with carved pulls, 45-degree angle ogee bevel edge along the top of the base and on the baseboards. The step back section is a double door with five adjustable shelves inside and is finished off with a crown molded top. The finish is decent. It looks like they replaced the keyhole covers on it at one time. The overall size is 44 inches wide on the base, 40 inches wide on the bookcase case, 19 inches deep on the base, 12 inches deep on the bookcase section, 16 inches high on the base and the overall height is 82 inches. The size of the glass doors are 60 inches tall. There is plenty of book space on the 9-inch-deep shelves. It is a great bookcase with a nice finish.
