We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful period inlaid bow front Hepplewhite server that is of European design and build.  It probably dates from the 1820's to 1840's.  It is a gorgeous mahogany piece with beautiful maple pinstripe inlaid along the Hepplewhite spade foot legs, banded edges along the doors and the drawer.  It has dainty pinstripe along the very edge.  You can see the flaws as on the top the big burl knot has moved over a little bit and has caused a deform over the years where it swirls in a little bit.  It has an ever so slight bow to the top, which is made up by the gorgeous multi color floral inlaid with a head of what I believe to be a ram right in the center. There is some veneer stretch, which is when the  veneer cracks because the back wood that the veneer is glued to shrinks over time.  It comes with what I believe to be the original brass hardware.  You can tell the piece is period form the drawers and the back.  The drawer configurations is one hand cut dove tail drawer on the top, two bow doors and a tambour roll door in the front.  If it has been refinished, it was a very long time ago.  However, I think someone just re-shellaced it a long time ago, which is why the finish has held up so well showing the original patina.  It is simply a wonderful period server.  The overall size is 48 inches wide, 23.5 inches deep in the center and 35.5 inches high.
