Beautiful set of eight solid mahogany Victorian dining chairs dating from the 1880s, consisting of two armchairs and six side chairs. These elegant antique chairs feature classic cabriole ball-and-claw front legs, graceful serpentine front skirts, and wonderfully detailed multifinger pierced splat backs that give the set loads of eye appeal.

The chairs are crafted from solid mahogany and retain a rich dark mahogany finish with lovely warm color throughout. The green needlepoint upholstered seats add a charming period touch and appear to remain in nice usable condition. A handsome and very decorative set of Victorian Chippendale-style dining chairs that would work beautifully in both formal and eclectic interiors.

A hard-to-find larger matched set with wonderful old craftsmanship and a lot of presence.

Condition:

Overall condition is good with expected antique wear including normal nicks, dings, and minor rub marks from age and use. One chair back has had a minor repair, and one front leg has also been repaired. One of the side chairs has a below-par finish compared to the others in the set. The needlepoint seats appear to remain in nice usable condition, and all chairs are sturdy and display very well.
