SOLD Decorated Period Corner Cupboard
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful European period corner cabinet in ribbon mahogany that dates from the 1880s era. It came on a container out of England. It is a beautiful hand decorated corner cabinet. It is an absolute sweetheart. The cabinet is shown with some items inside, but these items do not come with the cabinet as it is simply for display purposes. The cabinet has a glass door top and individual mullion glass (13 panes which represented the colonies in those days). It has a wood door in the base. When you open the top door, it exposes a velvet lined dual shelf interior. The cabinet itself is in the medium brown mahogany stain. The bow tie ribbons are intertwined with the green leaves and comes to matchup at the top. The overall size of the base is 28 inches wide and 36 inches tall. The top is 11 inches wide, 38 inches tall and the overall height of 74 inches. The ribbon mahogany veneer shows lines of separation where the seams have lifted somewhat. However, considering the age it is in really nice condition. It is a great decorator piece that was meticulous hand done as you can see by the pictures. It is all set to go into the home to be displayed. The decoration on the bottom door shows a basket for the flowers, a rake and other tools of the trade. There is a green bow tie on the bottom door and a red bow on the top. It is a stunning piece in person with minor chips and dings which provide added character.
