SOLD Carved Oak Buffet Cupboard

We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful European carved buffet cupboard that dates from the 1920s.  We get a whole different variety of these all the time when we ship from Belgium.  This buffet came in with a carved wood panel in the top center with two people that are hunting and a dog at the bottom chasing after their prey carved in deep relief on the door.  There is a clam shell carving on top of the crown, egg and dart molding, applied carving, carved serpents coming off both sides on the top where it steps down and underneath the cupboard there are little flowers and trim.  Underneath the cupboard is a spindle shelf with a mirror back.  The top cupboard is supported by two big bold fluted solid oak columns that rest upon the case cabinet.  The case cabinet also has carving on all of the panels.  It has four applied corner panels with tiger sawn oak and a highlight in the center of a molded raised panel.  It has carved columns coming down both sides and egg and dart molding on the carved drawers.  There are two bevel glass doors that go with the wonderful detail carved figure scene in the center.  The overall size is 55 inches wide at the base, 21 inches deep, 39 inches high to the base cabinet top, 51 inches wide on the top cabinet, 14 inches deep on the top cabinet, 56 inches high from the top of the cabinet to the base and the overall height is 95 inches.The finish is all original and good.  The only thing I can see wrong with it is that there is a little bow or reverse curve in the center of the base cabinet top, which is normal for a cabinet of this age.  It is probably only an eighth to a quarter of an inch and it is only visible when you look from the right angle.  I have adjusted the price because of the bow, which provides you a great deal as I doubt anyone else will notice it.   The mirror is all good with just signs of silver missing.  I do see one key, but we never guarantee the locks as they always need to be cleaned and adjusted to function properly.  Overall it is a great looking cupboard.
