SOLD Antique Spool Cabinet, Victorian Belding Brothers Multi-Drawer Case

This spectacular original Belding Brothers Spool Cabinet features a glass front that consists of 26 drawers with the bottom two wooden drawers retaining the original stencil in gold that reads “Belding Silk'' with the porcelain knobs still intact!  Usually, the ebonized black panel trim that decorates the sides are usually broken and missing, but these are amazingly intact.  Other than some of the ebony being worn off the wooden part, it appears to be all good except for the base cabinet missing the seven-inch piece in the middle.  The baseboard must have gotten dragged a few times as it was damaged, and we had to rebuild the baseboard molding. The cabinet guy did a great job replacing it like the original.  The raised panel sides retain the gold stencil, and it has the original paper label on the back.  One side has a crack, which is normal for this type of cabinet.  The other side is all intact.  It has the normal nicks and dings for a commercial cabinet in a storefront.  One glass drawer front has a chunk of molding missing.  Most of the drawers have the spool cups in them, but I counted seven where they were removed for large spools most likely.  Overall, it is a good honest hard to find spool cabinet from the Victorian age 1870s to 1880s.  The overall size is 31 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 34.5 inches high.  The size of the drawers are 12 inches wide by 14 inches deep by 1.5 inches high.  The two wooden drawers are 12 inches wide, 13 inches deep and 2.25 inches high.  It is a great collectors cabinet.  All the metal hardware is there except for one handle and a couple of them are bent.  The handle is basically a piece of metal that can be bent at any metal shop easily.  Shipping starts at $300 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
