We’ve never seen one of these before: an unusual oak canopy bed that came out of a European container, probably dating from the 1960s or ‘70s. The size tells me it’s probably a modern-day queen-size bed, measuring 61 x 80 on the inside. The outside dimensions are 64 inches wide, 41 inches to the headboard, and an amazing 94 inches to the finial on the canopy top. It has a floral carved wooden frame along the top that connects the four barley-twist posts together. The posts come all the way down on the headboard and footboard. The headboard has raised multi-shaped panels, and it has clip-in rails that make the bed nice, tight, and secure. There are metal brackets to hold the box spring up on the inside of the rails, and it is finished in a dark amber color. The overall condition is good. The canopy comes apart and the posts come off, which makes it a nice easy package for moving.
