Wonderful circa 1910 set of six solid oak dining chairs consisting of one armchair and five matching side chairs. These are a particularly nice example of early 20th-century oak dining furniture, with solid wood seats, graceful lines and an attractive open-back design.

One of the nicest things about this set is the solid oak seat construction. Unlike many dining chairs from this period that were made with upholstered or cane seats, these retain substantial solid wood seats, making them both practical and increasingly difficult to find as a complete matching set.

Each chair features a broad shaped crest rail above a distinctive central back splat. The legs have an especially attractive profile, with straight rear legs contrasted by gracefully shaped front legs ending in subtle feet. Solid oak H-style cross stretchers connect the legs and provide additional support.

The chairs have been refinished by a previous owner within approximately the last eight years. The warm oak finish shows off the grain beautifully while retaining the character expected of antique furniture.

The entire set remains tight, sturdy and in good usable condition. All six chairs are being sold together for one price.

Condition

Good antique condition. All six chairs are tight and sturdy and remain in good usable condition.

The set was refinished by a previous owner within approximately the last eight years. The chairs show minor nicks, dings, scratches and other signs of normal use consistent with their age. These small imperfections contribute to the character of the set without detracting from its overall appearance or usability.
