This rare and remarkable set of 8 solid oak dining chairs features beautifully carved wind-face crest tops, with unique storybook scenes carved into the backs of each chair. We’ve never had a set like this in 55+ years in the antique business! Each chair tells its own tale—line them up in the right order and they become a visual storybook around your dining table.

VERY RARE, VERY COOL, Nicks and dings, but overall good condition for the age.

Made from solid tiger sawn oak, the set includes:

1 Arm Chair – 24” W x 22” D x 41” H, seat height 19”

6 Side Chairs – 19” W x 21” D x 41” H, seat height 19”

1 Larger Side Chair – about 1.5” taller in the back (possibly made for the “lady of the house”)

The carved details are exceptional. The construction is solid and sturdy throughout—this is a high-quality set you won’t see again.

FABRIC:
At Maine Antique Furniture, we do our best to describe the fabric on our antiques as accurately as possible. We do not guarantee the condition or longevity of any upholstery and recommend that you plan to reupholster the fabric on any items. If you decide to keep any upholstery, we always recommend having it cleaned before using.

This set would look spectacular with updated upholstery—we recommend a rich burgundy or mallard green fabric to complement the oak grain.

A rare set with personality, durability, and style. Perfect for collectors or anyone looking for conversation-worthy antique seating.
