We are pleased to be offering today this very difficult hard to find
matching set of eight solid oak dining chair that date from the early 1900s
in wonderful original condition. The set consists of twin arm chairs and
six matching side chairs. They are all in original condition and I believe
even the upholstery on the seats are original. You can look at the
pictures, but I believe all eight chairs are tiger sawn oak. If your table
is lighter, we can custom professionally sand, stain, and glue up these
chairs for a reasonable price. If you are interested in this service on
these chairs please contact us to discuss the details. The chairs are all
original and are very tight, but we will double check prior to shipping.
The two arm chairs are 20 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 41 inches high to the
back, 20 inches high to the seat and 27 inches high to the arms. It is very
rare to find one master chair with a set, but finding two is nearly
impossible! The size of the side chairs are 18 inches wide, 17 inches deep,
40 inches high to the back and 19 inches high to the seat. It has a one
piece flared back leg, solid oak H cross stretcher that adds style and
comfort and these chairs even have the rare back stretcher. Believe it or
not that one piece of wood for the back stretcher makes a huge difference in
the strength and durability of these chairs. The chairs have cabriole legs
that come down into a pad foot, shapely cutout center splat, curved back
design and they only need a wax. The chairs have the normal nicks and dings
that can be expected of a chair this age. The seats are in what appears to
be black vinyl, but they can easily be reupholstered as they are slip out
seats. You are getting all eight chairs for one money. Shipping starts at
$285 for a driveway delivery in our normal area. Please contact us prior to
purchase to confirm that you are within our normal area. Don't hesitate
with these chairs as a set of eight chairs, including two arm chairs, are
very hard to find and won't last long.
