We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful Centennial Hepplewhite sideboard built out of beautiful flame mahogany and solid mahogany with satinwood inlaid., It dates from the 1870's and was made by the Russian Marshall Cabinet Mill in Manchester as noted in a Boston Essex Life Magazine dated autumn of 1982. They did a write up of people and what they should invest in for antiques. What they said was that this company made a lot of wonderful bench made furniture as displayed in this wonderful untouched condition Hepplewhite pin stripe inlaid with the fan shell inlaid sideboard. The finish has a little bit of fade to it and it could probably be brought back by stripping the old finish off and re-staining it. It does have the original old brass Chippendale cutout handles and key hole escutcheons. There is inlaid on all three drawers and all four doors. The top has two curved handmade drawers on the outside with a curved inlaid door beneath it. The center has a serpentine drawer and double serpentine doors in the center. It has a solid mahogany top and six Hepplewhite style legs. The overall size is 66 inches wide, approximately 25 inches deep and 40 inches high. The height of the drawers are approximately 5.5 inches and the height of the doors are approximately 13 inches high. The sideboard came out of an estate right out of the Boston area where I am sure this piece has been setting with the original owner since the 1870s. The original catalog or magazine will also come with the sideboard so you can see the write up as it was featured in the catalog. The overall condition is nice. There are no breaks, but there are a few finish flaws as can be expected for a piece of this age. Shipping will start at $299 to have this sideboard shipped via driveway delivery within our normal area. Please contact us prior to purchase because shipping can vary based upon location.
