Date: Circa 1890
Wood: Mahogany
Dimensions: 63” W × 19” D × 68” H
Beautiful circa 1890 Victorian mahogany three-door bookcase featuring an impressive architectural form, a tall projecting center section with curved glass, two flanking glass-door compartments, decorative carving, and brass gallery rails.
This is an especially attractive and highly functional antique bookcase, offering an unusually large amount of enclosed display and storage space while maintaining an elegant, relatively shallow 19” depth. The raised center section gives the piece wonderful presence, while the lower side sections create a balanced and sophisticated silhouette.
The centerpiece is the large curved-glass center door, which follows the bowed profile of the cabinet and opens to five generously sized shelves measuring approximately 25” × 16”. The two side compartments each have their own tall flat-glass door and four shelves, measuring approximately 14” × 6¾”. Together, the three independently accessible compartments provide excellent storage for books, collectibles, china, decorative objects, or an extensive library.
Delicate scrolled carving decorates all three door surrounds and continues onto the shaped backsplash galleries above the side sections. Brass gallery rails run across the tops, adding another wonderful period detail and finishing the cabinet beautifully.
The warm original mahogany finish has developed an attractive aged patina and showcases the craftsmanship and restrained ornamentation of the late Victorian period.

Condition
This bookcase is in good overall antique condition and retains its original finish. There are normal nicks, dings, scratches, finish wear, and other signs of age and use expected on a piece more than 100 years old. These imperfections contribute to the authentic character and patina of the bookcase rather than detracting from its overall presentation.
The glass doors and shelving appear well preserved, and the cabinet presents beautifully overall.
A key is included with this bookcase. As with all antique locks and keys, we do not guarantee the continued operation of antique locking mechanisms. Keys should be used gently and are provided as a convenience rather than as a security feature.
Please review all photographs closely, as they are an important part of the condition description.
