SOLD Victorian Walnut Step Back Bookcase with Gallery
We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian carved burl walnut step back bookcase with the original carved backsplash that dates from the 1870s to 1880s. It is in the original finish. It is a two door step back two drawer Victorian bookcase. It has a gorgeous burl walnut carved backsplash gallery that is all intact. It has cut out notches, little carved blocks across the top behind the doors, spindle and burl walnut trim, panel sides, burl walnut drawers with original nickel Eastlake hardware, original doors and adjustable shelves. It is a nice original cabinet. The only thing I can see wrong with it is that it has a missing key hole cover on one of the doors and on the right side panel at the bottom there is a chip of wood missing. It comes with two adjustable shelves that are walnut face molded. It has the keys. The finish is nice original showing age marks. The overall size is 50 inches wide, 19 inches deep and 71 inches high. The size of the glass doors are 21 inches wide by 40 inches high to give you an idea of storage space. It is getting tough to find these now a days, but we have been very fortunate. Shipping estimates starts at $365.00-$395.00 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
