We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful pre-civil war Victorian American black walnut and rosewood mixed stylish fireplace screen pole that dates from the 1850s era.  This is simply beautiful.  It is dainty and in nice condition.  The most unique piece is the needlepoint that is in the center of a raised peacock sitting on a floral arrangement.  It is all good with no rips or tears.  The only thing wrong with the fabric is that the back cloth is ripped/torn from age.  The workmanship is all there.  It shows some wear, but it is simply stunning.  It has dainty incise carving that adorns the picture frame top.  It has a pierce carved crest on the top and base.  It adjusts up and down on the tapered dainty pole.  It goes down into a fluted triple leg reverse finial carved scroll base that is stunning.  The finish is the old original that is over 160 years old.  It could use a good hand polish.  There are a couple spots of finish loss, but it is stunning.  The screen is 22 inches wide and 29 inches high from the top crest to the bottom crest.  The size of the needlework is 18.5 inches by 19 inches.  The overall height to the top of the pole is 64 inches.  It is a fantastic pre-civil war piece.  It is perfect for a Victorian home.  Shipping starts at $225 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.  Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
