We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful rosewood Victorian civil war era marble top cookie corner half commode that dates from the 1860s to 1870s. It came into the shop with a couple pieces of molding missing. We replaced the molding and you can not tell which ones were replaced. We sanded down the entire case and went over it with an amber stain to bring out the grains of the rosewood. It has a beautiful ogee bevel edge cookie corner design white and gray grain marble top that is in good condition. It is a gorgeous half commode with a picture frame molded carved top drawer with hand cut dove tail. It has a picture frame molded panel door and carved columns coming down both sides with a cookie corner base. The overall size is 22 inches wide, 19 inches deep and 31 inches high to the top of the marble. It is a great half commode. The only thing I can see wrong with it is the door knob that appears to have had a wooden knob at one time. We have reproduction knobs that we could put on if the buyer so desires. Shipping starts at $165 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
