We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian rose carved rocker that dates from the 1880s era. It is a beautiful rocker made out of red mahogany or black walnut, it is hard to tell when it is in the original finish like this. I believe it to be mahogany. It has a beautiful hand carved crest on the back with florals, leaves and a rose in the dead center. The chair has been reupholstered within the last ten years and it is in great condition. The color of the fabric goes great against the frame. The arms and back of the rocker have even been reupholstered. The upholstery is a red ox blood fabric with beige floral patterns throughout. It has the original rockers, original scrolled arms, fancy cut out base. The overall size is 24 inches wide, 20 inches deep on the seat, 43 inches high as it rests naturally and 18 inches high on the seat. It is a great Victorian piece that came out of the new England coast. It appears to be tight with no cracks or breaks. Shipping starts at $265 for our normal area.
