SOLD Victorian Pre- Civil War Marble Top Half Commode
We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian civil war era cookie corner marble top black walnut night stand/half commode dating from the 1860s era. It is a great model with an ogee bevel cookie corner white and gray grained marble top that sits upon a hand carved panel door and drawer and wonderful cookie corners with columns going down both sides with burl walnut accents and cookie corner style feet. It has panel sides. The overall condition is nice. The marble is fairly clean, but it could use a good polish. There is a crack in the wood where the door got swung open at one time and we will repair it if you remind us at the point of sale. We will glue it back up for you. It has the original hand carved handle on top of the picture frame burl walnut accented dove tail drawer. It has a beautiful panel door with an applied carving in the center with picture frame molding all around. It has all the carving intact. We just sold one similar to this for $300 more than what we are asking for this one, but we bought this one right. The overall size is 20 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 29 inches high. It is a great little marble top half commode. Shipping starts at $125 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
