SOLD Victorian Oak Raised Panel Lawyers Bankers Flat Top Desk

We are pleased to be offering today this solid raised panel oak flat top lawyers/bankers flat top desk that dates from the 1890s to 1900s.  This was originally a roll top base where someone filled the hole in the front and put a small strip in the back where the roll would come down in on the writing surface top. They made this into a flat top, which was common back in the 1980s as I did a few of them myself.  The flat tops were selling faster and the roll top would always be messed up on top so it was easier to convert them.  It was finished around 30 to 40 years ago and it is in decent usable condition.  It has four dove tail drawers going down the left hand side, a large center drawer and three drawers on the right hand side where the bottom drawer is a simulated two drawer which is a deep file drawer.   It has pull out writing surfaces on both sides that shows scratches and dings.  The desk overall shows wear and use over the years. Obvious damage is a chip on the bottom left hand drawer that we will piece and color in so it won’t look so offensive.  It is a great usable desk that would be great for a student.  The overall size is 50 inches wide, 33 inches deep and 30.5 inches high.  The desk chair space is 21 inches wide by 25 inches high.  It is a great little desk.  Shipping estimates starts at $265.00-$285.00 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
