SOLD Victorian Oak Carved Hall Tree – Lift Seat Bench – c.1890

Outstanding late Victorian carved oak hall tree dating from the 1890s, featuring exceptional original finish, shapely carved lines, and a beautiful beveled glass mirror. This highly decorative and functional entry hall piece is crafted from solid tiger sawn oak with rich grain patterns and retains its warm original antique finish.

The upper section features an elegant shaped beveled mirror surrounded by flowing carved oak scrollwork and fitted with original cast metal hooks on all four sides for coats, hats, and accessories. The dramatic carved crest and organic Art Nouveau influenced lines give this piece wonderful visual presence.

The lower section includes a lift-seat storage bench with interior compartment space ideal for gloves, scarves, umbrellas, or everyday entryway storage. Additional metal umbrella or cane holders remain intact at the sides, further enhancing both the functionality and originality of the piece.

Condition:

Overall very nice original antique condition with beautiful color and patina throughout. The piece remains solid, sturdy, and highly usable with normal age-appropriate wear consistent with a 125+ year old antique.

There is a small chip on one of the arms that will be professionally corrected prior to shipping. Minor nicks and dings are present as expected from age and normal use.
