SOLD Victorian Carved Oak Hall Tree with Oval Bevel Mirror & Lift Seat – 1890s
This is a stunning late 19th century Victorian hall tree made of solid tiger sawn oak with bold carving and a beautiful patina from over 130 years of age. Dating from the 1890s and still in its original finish, this is a simplistically beautiful piece with a strong, elegant presence.
Features:
• Deeply carved crown and accents surrounding a large oval beveled mirror
• All-original lion-face cast iron hooks—one on each side
• Lift-top storage seat—great for gloves, umbrellas, or other entryway storage
• Shapely arms and a carved skirt below the seat
• Mirror shows typical age marks in the glass, consistent with its age
• Sturdy, stylish, and stout—this is a very solid antique hall tree ready for use
