We are pleased to be offering today this Victorian gold incise carved hall mirror that dates from the 1880's. It is a gorgeous mirror with a hand carved solid black walnut applied carved crest with gold incise highlights throughout it all, molded columns with gold incise cornices underneath, burl panels running down both sides with carved rosettes and finished off with corner blocks on the bottom with a burl panel across the bottom of the frame. The mirror itself is a lemon gold designed liner and the looking glass appears to be original with wear marks in the left hand corner and down towards the bottom you can see where the silver has worn over the years. The mirror has a lot of charm and character with the age marks. The frame is original dark walnut finish. The only thing I can see wrong with it is that the burl panels have some small aggravation on them. The left hand panels has some chippage/roughness and the same on the bottom panel. The overall size is 28 inches wide at the widest point, 25 inches wide on the mirror frame, 57 inches tall. The size of the looking glass is 17 inches wide and 40 inches tall. It is a great looking mirror. There are a couple of small veneer chips on the top burl walnut panel. Shipping starts at $165 for a driveway delivery in our normal area.
