SOLD Victorian Carved Rosewood Shapley Marble Top Parlor Stand
We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian rosewood heavily carved floral type turtle top parlor stand that dates from the 1860s civil war era in beautiful condition. It has an over varnish on it years ago, which is normal. It has the original patina and all the carvings seem to be intact. It has a center turn finial in the platform base where the four shapely legs join together, serpentine skirts and floral carving all over. It has a beautiful piece of white ogee bevel edge shapely corner marble top that is about stain free. The marble has a couple of surface scratches that should buff out. The overall size is 34 inches wide, 26 inches deep and 30.5 inches high. Could you imagine a leaded lamp or tiffany vase on top?
