We are pleased to be offering today this most unusual chest constructed of solid tiger sawn oak dating from the 1880s to 1890s in good original condition.  Not only is this dresser most likely bench or custom construction but it has all dove tail construction, multi-molded tops, raised bevel edge drawer fronts, solid oak panel sides, a step out base and a block foot.  The entire chest offers eight drawers of different sizes to hold items.  When you look at the photos, it appears there are nine drawers, but the drawer under the two narrow drawers is the butler’s pull out.  It is a very clever design.  The brass hardware has an alligator hide effect, which is original and intact.  Even the key hole escutcheons are intact and unique.  It appears to have been varnished a long time ago and it shows minor nicks and dings, but overall it is a beautiful as found tall chest that also happens to be a butlers desk.  It is of great quality.  The overall size is 37.5 inches wide, 48 inches high and 20 inches deep.  It is a great investment piece  for ample storage and a great conversation piece.  Shipping starts at $365.00  if you are in our normal area and will increase in costs if not. This estimate is for the East coast. You are welcome to use your own shipper if desired.  Please contact us prior to purchase with a zip code to confirm that you are in our normal area.
