We are pleased to be offering today this original dark oak stain finish tiger sawn oak barrel seat carved arm chair that dates from the 1890’s. It is a great looking chair in the dark oak original stain finish. It has tiny specks of white paint where someone must have painted and the paint spatter. I think it will come out with steel wool. It originally had an velour or felt seat cover on it and some fuzz is on the seat and if you take Howard’s and steel wool with a little elbow grease it should disappear. I think a good oil and rub down would due wonders for this chair. The finish is really nice even though it is old and shows minor nicks and dings. I wouldn’t want it refinished, but we can quote you a price via email if you so desire. It has reverse curved legs, carvings all over, curved seat, dainty spindles holding up the medallion back, knuckle arms and the cross stretchers are supported with tapered turn spindles. The overall size is 23 inches wide, 23 inches deep, 37 inches high to the chair back, 25 inches high to the arm and 17 inches high to the center of the seat. Shipping starts at $165 in New England.
