We are pleased to be offering this wonderful set of eight solid mahogany Hepplewhite style dining chairs to you today. Dating from the 1890s, they are carved with unique backs, featuring the Lincoln drape incorporated onto the large center splat. The chairs have a notch back with oval medallion in the center and spade foot front legs, and consists of seven side chairs and one arm chair. This set is in a really nice condition, finished in the original dark mahogany stain color. They are stout, stylish and sturdy chairs in the formal style. The fabric on the side chairs is a brown tweed fabric, and the fabric on the arm chair appears to be a black vinyl or leather that was likely original, and are the easy to reupholster slip seats. There are the normal nicks and dings that come with over 100 years of age, but have no major problems. We always check them out to make sure they are tight prior to shipping and ready for use in the home.  The side chairs are 19 inches wide, 16 inches deep, 37 inches high to the back and 18 inches high to the seat.  They have a solid H mahogany cross stretcher that joins the spade front legs to the flared back legs. The arm chair is 21 inches across the front of the seat, 22 inches across the front of the arms, 19 inches deep from the front to the back, 39 inches high to the chair back, 27 inches high to the arm and 19 inches high to the seat.  They have minor nicks and dings.  The seats have worn a little and have color changes. You are getting all 8 chairs for one money.   This auction is for the set of 8 chairs only, but we have included a photo of the table and chairs together if you are interested in the set.
