SOLD Set of 6 Antique Period Empire Dining Chairs – Flame Mahogany – c.1860s

Beautiful set of six Period Empire dining chairs dating from the 1860s, retaining their rich original finish and wonderful early craftsmanship throughout. These elegant antique chairs feature beautifully figured flame mahogany in the backs and serpentine front skirts, along with classic saber front legs and flared rear legs that are true to the Empire period style.

The entire set was gone over by the previous owner, within the last 10 years, and they remain in very nice usable condition today. The needlepoint seats still look beautiful and give the set a warm, traditional look with a lot of eye appeal.

A fine honest set of Empire chairs with great color, graceful lines, and plenty of character. You are buying all six chairs for one money.

Condition:

Condition is very nice overall. The chairs were repaired and tightened by previous owners and remain sturdy and usable. Repairs include a small repair to one center splat and one repaired front leg. The set shows minor nicks, dings, and a small veneer chip consistent with age and use. Overall, this is a very attractive and well-kept antique set with lots of charm left in it.
