We are pleased to be offering today this most unusual postmaster chair. They usually had a stand up desk where they stood a majority of the time as it has a tall writing surface. When they sat down, they used chairs such as this. This chair is made of oak and maple. It doesn’t have a threaded rod like an office chair. It has a wooden rod where you can pull out a pin, move to the desired height and replace the pin. It swivels as well. It is in the old finish. We bought this chair out of southern Massachusetts and they used in their billiard room as a pool table chair as it has a footrest on the circular base. It dates from the 1890s and is in the original old finish. It is stout and sturdy. The overall size is 16 inches wide, 16 inches deep, 48 inches high to the back, 28 inches high to the seat and 12 inches high to the footrest. It is a multiple purpose chair to offer seating in any room. Shipping starts at $145 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Outside New England it will change, so please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to obtain a quote for outside of New England for shipping.
