SOLD Pair of Empire Claw Foot Carved Drop Leaf Stands
We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful match pair of city style acanthus carved empire drop leaf triple drawer stands or end tables that I believe date from the 1880s era. They are most likely centennial furniture. I am having a hard time dating them as they were professionally refinished in the last 10 years or so and they did an outstanding job. We have a cabinet shop and we are very impressed with the quality of the refinishing. Each cabinet has three dove tail drawers, gadroon edge on the drop leaves and top, solid mahogany tops, carved pillars coming down both sides of the drawers and they rest upon an acanthus carved post that goes down into a toe nail claw foot base. The size when the leaves are dropped down are 18 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 30 inches high. When the leaves are opened it because 40 inches wide. The size of the drawers are 11.5 inches wide, 11.25 inches deep and 1.75 inches high. The drop leaves always need a little shim to make them level on the top. They usually sink a bit if you don’t put a spacer. There are minor nicks on the base. They are unbelievable gorgeous. You are buying the pair for one money.
