We are pleased to be offering today this unusual shape oak writing desk in the kidney shape dating from the 1890s in original as found condition. It is all tiger sawn oak. It has a kidney shape top with a triple drawer that retains the original hardware and dainty cabriole legs that are all in good condition. If you look in the pictures you can see where the boards on top were glued together from the factory and you can see lines where the seams have moved a little bit. The top has numerous nicks and dings from normal use. There is a small chip on a piece of molding on the side. The left hand corner of the top has a small chip off the curved skirt. It is a nice original finish desk from the turn of the century. The overall size is 49 inches wide, 28 inches deep, 23 inches deep in the center and 30 inches high overall. It is very unusual to find a kidney shape desk in the ladies version. If you would like the top redone, please contact us for a quote.
