We are pleased to be offering today this gorgeous 54" when closed solid mahogany empire style dining table that dates from the 1920s era and is made by the Davenport Furniture Company that is well known for their high quality stylish goods. This table comes with all kinds of great things. We will start with the seven table leaves in the factory rack. The table leaves are 14 inches wide and are unskirted. The table itself is 54 inches round and 29 inches high. When you take the seven 14 inch leaves and install them the table becomes 146 inches or 12 foot 2 inches long! To support this beautiful table of solid mahogany, it sits upon a fluted column on the pedestal base with an extra wide platform with the empire curl foot. Due to the length and weight of this table, when you insert the seven leaves you also have a double turn dual leg support system on each table half that flips down and allows you enough support so that you can let junior ride his skateboard on the table top if you so desire. The table has gone through our restoration shop which means they hand strip the table to remove all the finish, old nicks, scratches and dings and then it gets sanded for hours to keep the patina and character marks but remove the major nicks and dings. Then it gets re-glued by the cabinet maker and insure the leaves fit nice. They then paste fill the entire item, sand, stain a dark rich reddish brown mahogany luxurious stain and then they apply multiple lacquer spray coats. Every time they apply a spray coat, they hand sand in between. Multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer has been applied with multiple coats of sealer base to produce a durable finish that will last for years and years. It is a flawless finish job and we are proud to offer it to you today. If you want the leaves skirted, it would be an additional $50.00 per leaf so that you do not see that ugly gap. It would cost $800- $1200 to have this table professionally restored at a refinisher, so please keep that in mind while you are comparing as you shop.
