We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful mahogany two piece full bonnet top Chippendale ball and claw Philadelphia highboy or chest on chest.  It is a great looking period style piece with full bonnet top and a crown broken arch molded front with three large solid mahogany finials that finishes off the top.  It has 11 drawers for plenty of storage.  It is a real high end quality piece showing minor nicks and dings here and there.  There is a chip out of the veneer panel on the side, which is normal and it has been colored in so that it is barely noticeable.  This piece dates from the 1940s to 1950s.  It has period style Chippendale hardware.  It has a clam shell drawer on top and on the bottom.  The cabinet rests upon tall Chippendale ball and claw legs.  The finish is a dark brownish red mahogany stain finish.  The overall size is 38 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 31 inches high to the top of the base, 86 inches tall to the top of the center finial and the base to the bottom finial is 69 inches high.  It is all dove tail construction, raised panel front drawers and the Paine furniture label on the back from Boston, Massachusetts.  The inventory paper tag is intact as well, which is very unusual. This is a heavy chest, but it does come apart in two sections.  Shipping starts at $385 if you are in our normal area and will increase in costs if not. This estimate is for the East coast. You are welcome to use your own shipper if desired.  Please contact us prior to purchase with a zip code to confirm that you are in our normal area.
