We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful solid mahogany custom heavily carved ball and claw tilt top bird cage style Chippendale stand from the 1930's to 1940's. Please do not confuse this table with the more moderate ones from the 1950's that are veneer and stained mahogany. This is a beautiful custom solid mahogany carved cabriole leg ball and claw foot tilt top stand that is not marked, but it is certainly the quality of Kittinger or Beacon Hill. It is a high end quality stand. take a look at the pictures to see the wonderful multi-carved multi-turn center mahogany column that comes down into three cabriole carved foot legs. The top is all scalloped with solid mahogany. The great thing about a table like this being 30 inches across and 30 inches high. It could be a small dinette table or an oversize stand for lamps and plants. It could be used as a decorative item by flipping up the brass latch to display the bird cage multi turn four corner spindle space between the top and the base. When the table is tilted up it is a display piece that is 47 inches high. It is a fantastic quality table with a nice original finish showing minor wear spots here and there.
