SOLD Antique Victorian Walnut Dining Table
We are pleased to be offering today this very unusual Victorian walnut split pedestal banquet table dating from the 1870s. The unique feature is that it is an oval top when closed. I have sold thousands of Victorian dining tables over my years in the business, and I have never had one that was American and had an oval top when closed. It came out of a home in Western Massachusetts where we purchase several articles. The table is 58 inches long, 46 wide, 124 inches when opened, 29.5 inches high to the top, 25.5 inches to the bottom of the skirt and it comes with two 15-inch leaves. When the table have the leaves installed it is 88 inches long. The table can take six chairs as shown in the last photo. Please keep in mind this listing is for the table only. The table has burl walnut trim on the skirt. The split pedestal base is really nice with open applied legs and a center turn pedestal. It has burl walnut trim all around. The base retains the original brass castors. The condition of the burl walnut veneer trim has minor flaws but isn’t noticeable when all set up.
