SOLD Antique Victorian Raised Panel Roll-top by Standard

We are pleased to be offering this original, right of the home, turn of the century raised panel roll-top made by the Standard Roll-top Company, well-known for its high-quality goods. This desk is all tiger sawn oak, all the way around. It has dovetail construction, raised panel drawer fronts, raised panels front, back, and everywhere you look. The only thing we’ve done to this desk is recanvas the roll, which is a job we normally charge $250 for, and we glued up some joints. The desk comes complete with everything except a key. It has the pencil trays and pullout trays, bars to hold letters, and letter slots on the sides. The drawers are four of equal size on the left side, with a pullout writing surface, a center drawer, and two normal size drawers and a simulated dual drawer that is really a file cabinet, along with another writing surface, on the right hand side. The desk has as many raised panels as you can imagine, which you can see in the pictures. The inside of the writing surface, which would normally be all beaten up on a desk like this, is really in pretty good shape despite a bit of wear and tear. The biggest negative on the finish is on top, where you can see a file drawer set for a long time, long enough to leave a stain that will show in the pictures. We’d be more than happy to give you a quote to strip and refinish this desk, if you’d like. It would be simply stunning after it was refinished. The overall size is 50 inches wide on the writing surface, 34 inches deep, and 30 inches high. To the very top of the desk is 49.5 inches tall. The S-shaped tambour roll top is 20 inches high. The drawers are 10 inches wide, and 4 inches deep, with the exception of the file drawer, which is 10 inches deep. The center drawer is 19.5 inches wide. This is a truly original piece, in beautiful original condition. The color is a rich honey amber, and is gorgeous in person.
