SOLD Antique Victorian Burl Walnut Cylinder Secretary Bookcase Desk Office
We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian heavily burl walnut cylinder secretary bookcase desk that dates from the 1880s. It appears to be previously refinished years ago. It comes with two adjustable shelves in the bookcase top. Look at the burl walnut across the book top, drawers, sides, raised panels and running down the posts. It has the original brass hardware. The key hole covers are there, but there is no key. It has bird’s eye maple drawer interior and a much better cubby hole than normal. It has a pull out surface with a dark royal blue felt surface that has been redone. The overall size is 44 inches wide at the base, 23 inches deep on the base, 30 inches high to the pull out writing surface, 43 inches high to the top of the base and the overall height is 87 inches high. It is a great looking desk that has been re-varnished along the line and I believe it is the original patina underneath. On the double burl cylinder, you can see where the burl had cracked a little bit and it has been repaired. It is all dove tail drawers.
