SOLD Antique Unusual Heavily Carved Crown Chair, Barley Twist – Unbelievable
This chair is most likely European, because it is so heavily carved, and it is of walnut, with barley twist, and a crown carved right in the center back, and pineapple finials. It has crowns carved in the bottom of the back, the sides of the back, and across the front crest. The chair is unbelievable, and the more I look at it, the more I love it! It even has the original cane. It might date from the 1880s to 1900s, and the patina is super fantastic. The condition is just amazing, and the quality is mind-boggling. I don’t think you’ll see another chair as nice as this in this kind of condition. We bought this out of a really nice East Coast estate. We also have a taller version of this chair, but the cane isn’t in this kind of wonderful condition. The cane on this one is in really good condition, with minor finish loss. The overall size is 20 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 49 inches to the top of the finial, and 18 inches high to the seat.
