SOLD Antique Solid Mahogany Four Piece Bedroom Set – Twin Pineapple Beds

We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful four-piece high quality mahogany bedroom set that consists of two twin pineapple beds, a Sheraton style five drawer dresser with swivel mirror and a three drawer solid mahogany swivel mirror vanity. The set is in clean condition dating from the 1920s. The set has been sanded, stained and re-sprayed with satin sheen lacquer. This is not a refinishing, but a brightening of the finish and will leave the minor character flaws in place. It is a beautiful set as seen in the photos.

The beds have bolt on side rails for extra strength and sturdiness. A bed with bolt on rails is a sign of quality and this set was likely made by a company like Paine. The beds are a match pair that measure 42 inches wide and 82 inches long. The inside dimensions for mattress purposes are 36 inches wide by 76 inches long. Most people put a sheet of plywood on top of the rails and then the mattress on top. If you would like the beds to fit a modern-day mattress, please contact us for a quote on the rail modification. The headboard posts are 6 inches tall, 44 inches high on the headboard shield, 40 inches high on the footboard posts and 38 inches high on the rolled footboard shield. We may sell these beds separately down the road if the set doesn’t sell, because we have clients who love this style.

The next item is the five drawer dresser that is a cookie corner in the Hepplewhite style. It looks like a State of Maine chest, but this one is mahogany and isn’t period. It comes with a large swivel mirror. The base is 48 inches wide, 24 inches deep and 37 inches high. The overall height to the top of the mirror is 67 inches high. The mirror glass is 33 inches by 23 inches. It comes with two dove tail small drawers and three large dove tail drawers with embossed brass Hepplewhite hardware.

The final item is the swivel mirror glass vanity. The overall size is 40 inches wide, 22 inches deep, 30 inches high to the vanity base and 58 inches high to the top of the mirror. It features three dove tail drawers that are adorned with traditional Hepplewhite brass hardware. The mirror glass measures 27 inches by 23 inches.

It is a great quality set. I priced some new furniture the other day and this set is so underpriced. This is all solid mahogany, clean and retains its value unlike new furniture.
