This antique safe dates from the Victorian era, and is one of the hardest sized safes to find in the antique world. This is the little guy that is only 13.5 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 18 inches high. Normally they are 21 inches high, but this one does not have the casters on the bottom. I asked the family about it, and they said that as long as their grandfather had it, it never had wheels. I am sure it did at one time though. Normally people hide these safes away, so it isn’t a big deal. This safe dates from the 1880s to 1890s in really nice condition. When the door is open, it reveals a stenciled lock cabinet/compartment, original drawer with hardware and even the original carpet. Usually when we get these the paint is very chipped, but this one must have been hidden very well as the paint is in nice shape. It is an antique plum with gold highlights. The door says Arthur Curtis from Boston, Massachusetts. It is in nice condition with the hinge caps (beehive finials), but the bottom cap on the bottom hinge is missing. You probably wouldn’t notice as it looks natural, but I wanted you to be aware. It is a nice little safe that does not have wheels. It has a combination lock, which we do have the combination for. This safe is half the normal price due to the fact it doesn’t have castors. I am confident that you could get an old junky safe and use the castors on this one if you desire to put castors back on. Shipping starts at $245 (due to weight) for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area. Outside the normal area will incur additional delivery charges.
