SOLD Antique Pair of Victorian Oak Carved Gilded Picture Frames
We are pleased to be offering this pair of Victorian oak and carved pictures frames to you today. Dating from the 1880s, this pair of frames remains in unbelievable condition. The finish on the oak is worn a bit, but the gilding is just about perfect. I don’t see any damage, but I am sure there are nicks and dings some place due to the age. We assume these portraits feature a husband-and-wife in the frames, and would be a neat addition to your home, or you can easily replace them with photos of you and your significant other. And if you're looking for a pair of matching mirror frames for a great price, you can replace the inserts with new mirror, and voila! There isn’t much else to say about these beauties, except that they used to be abundant in the antique world, but are now getting more and more rare, and they are ready to be hung up on the wall.
The overall size of the frames are 25.5 inches wide on the outside and 30 inches tall. The exposed glass is 15.25 inches wide by 19.5 inches high. The size for the original space for another picture is 16 inches wide by 20 inches high. It is a great looking pair. It is very difficult to find a pair in such condition. Shipping starts at $65 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area. Outside the normal area will incur additional delivery charges.
