We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful pair of high-quality mahogany super tall post twin size beds dating from the 1910 to 1920 era. They are a fantastic example of furniture making back in the day. The quality makes them appear possibly older. The beds are super tall. The footboard and headboards are the same height, 62 inches high. The outside dimensions are 41 inches wide, 62 inches high on the posts, 32 inches high on the cross stretcher on the footboard and 48 inches high on the headboard crest. The bed rails are bolt on construction for added sturdiness. The mattress dimensions is 76 inches long by 40 inches wide. Most people put a sheet of plywood on the rails and lay the mattress on top. If you would like the bed altered to accommodate a modern day box spring and mattress, please contact us for a quote. The bed rails are 2 inches thick and 4 inches tall. The cross stretcher on the footboard is approximately 3 inches thick. The finish is a piano style finish with a dark mahogany stain. One footboard is slightly lighter than the other which is likely from being near a window. The difference is not offensive, but noticeable. You are getting both beds for one money.
